When your project tool is retired

Some moves are not chosen: a product is discontinued, a licence runs out, a vendor pushes you into a cloud that does not meet your requirements. These pages describe the route — and say who it is not worth it for.

What a migration actually turns on

Not the feature matrix — the tool you already know almost always wins that. It turns on three questions: can your data get out and back in somewhere else? Does the new tool cover the part of your work that actually hurts? And where does the data sit afterwards?

For Zuuna that means: import and export run through Excel and CSV, in both directions; board, sprints and git belong together instead of living in three tools; hosting is in Germany, with a DPA. If your team writes no code and hosting is not a constraint, the gain is smaller — and every page here says so.

FAQ

How is an alternatives page different from a comparison?

A comparison puts two tools side by side. An alternatives page answers the question after that one: you already know you want — or have — to move, perhaps because a product is being retired, and you are looking for the route.

How do I bring my data across?

Through Excel or CSV. Export from your old tool, upload the file to Zuuna and map the columns — title, status, assignee, custom fields. Connect Jira with an API token, or let Zuuna read Trello from its JSON export — both with the mapping filled in, and both a one-time import rather than a sync. Every other tool goes through the spreadsheet.

Does my data stay in the EU?

Yes. Zuuna is hosted in Germany, a data processing agreement is available, and the security features are built in rather than bought in.

Try it before you migrate
